Caribbean Stud Poker

How The Game Is Played

The player is required to place an ante bet in the ante box of the table. At most internet Casinos you can choose the minimum or maximum ante you wish to play for. The player receives 5 cards face down and the dealer 4 cards down and 1 up. The players hand is then shown on the screen (but remains to all intents and purposes invisible to the dealer). The player then looks at the hand dealt to them and at the dealers visible card before deciding whether to bet or fold. If the player folds the ante is lost. As in true stud poker the player will not have the opportunity to draw more cards.

After the player decides whether to raise or fold the dealers hand is shown. If the dealer does not have at least an Ace and a King the player is paid even money on the ante bet and nothing on the raise bet. If the dealer has a Ace - King or higher the dealers hand is compared to the players hand and the best hand wins. If the dealer beats the player the dealer receives the ante and the raise bet. The raise bet is generally twice that of the ante so an ante of 5 dollars means a total of 15 dollars on table. If the player wins generally the ante is paid even money and the raised bet is paid a bonus which is generally as follows :-

Royal Flush100 to 1
Straight Flush50 to 1
4 of a Kind20 to 1

Shop around the casinos on the web as better bonuses may be available. Some casinos even have a progressive jackpot which is paid out on the off chance that a player gets a Royal Flush and a extra fixed amount for anything beyond a Straight.
